We have photographed headshots for people in several dozen different businesses!  So if you’re wondering if you should get a headshot, no matter what area you work in, you probably should.

Here are some of the people we have worked with, and why a headshot was important to them.  If you don’t see your business here, we’d love to photograph you!  Through our headshots, we’ve learned of jobs we didn’t even know were things.

Allied Health & Wellness

These are businesses like naturopaths, chiropractors, acupuncturists, massage therapists, psychologists, etc.  We have photographed all of the above.

Physicians

Physicians don’t need headshots for marketing – their customers seek them out!  But when they’re speaking at a conference, promoting their research in other ways, starting a new health group in a hospital setting, or just trying to help their patients feel more comfortable, they can help.  We’ve photographed physicians in all those scenarios.

Trades

Tradespeople will often think that a headshot is unnecessary.  If they’re super busy, then maybe they are!  But if they’re trying to grow their business, or just trying to offer a better service for their customers, by presenting themselves online they both built trust with new visitors, and also help their prospective customers feel more comfortable bringing the technicians into their homes.  We’ve worked with plumbers, carpenters, heavy machinery operators, and more.

Interior Designers

Interior designers tend to work pretty closely with their clients.  Whether it’s the business owner who wants to connect personally with their client, or one of their staff designers who will be assigned to a new client, setting a good first impression can help book that new job.

Speakers

Someone who is building their business as a speaker almost HAS to have a great headshot.  They are used EXTENSIVELY to promote their gigs, both by them, and the hosts of whatever even they’ll be speaking at.  It’s almost a given that they’ll need a great portrait to attract an audience.  They could be used on the event website, the host website, any printed promotional material, etc.

Business or Life Coaches

For a business or life coach, they ARE their brand.  So natural and genuine headshots to populate their social media, website, books, etc., are critical to generating new leads.

Lawyers

Law firms are one of the top kinds of businesses for headshots.  They want to reassure their customers that they are trustworthy and professional, so they almost always have great business portraits.

Community leaders

Great community leaders are often given awards and honours, and that usually comes with some nice portraits to inspire those around them.

Real Estate Agents

Second to lawyers, realtors are one of the most common clients for headshot photographers – for the same reasons.  Buying a house is a big thing requiring trust in your agent, so they want to communicate that to their prospective customers.

Startup Founders

Startups are always trying to attract investment, particularly in the tech sector these days.  So the founders want to communicate professionalism and also approachability to help them drum up funding.

Salespeople

Sales staff are the front line and first point of contact for many businesses.  So having their picture on their website, business card, email signature, trade show banner,

Professors

Besides teach, trofessors at universities do research.  And to do research they need funding.  So like startups, they need to be constantly writing grant applications, and a good photo of themselves on their website can help.

Research Scientists

Not all research scientists work at universities.  Some work in private companies that do applied research, and those companies need customers and funders.  We have worked with such a group, who used their pictures to inspire confidence and professionalism.

Managers

Managers in any business are often who customers come to when there’s an issue.  Being able to show who that person is and inspire trust is important.  Whether it’s a manager of a department, or a VP, we’ve photographed them.

Financial Planners

Relationship-based businesses are based on trust, and never more than when someone’s savings and money are on the line. So financial planners want to project trustworthiness and reliability.  We have photographed mortgage brokers!

Insurance Brokers

Like financial planners, insurance brokers build relationships with their clients, and advise on how best to plan their finances for their future, good or bad.  The start of that relationship is when the customer first visits their website.

Mortgage Brokers

In the same vein as the two above, mortgage brokers have to have their clients’ financial interest at heart.  Starting to establish that trust with a genuine headshot helps begin a connection.

Bankers

From the board of directors right down to the tellers at the branches, banks have long made use of professional headshots.  We’ve photographed LOTS of bankers.

Energy Industry

Besides the obvious candidates in energy businesses, like the executives, VPs, etc., even the engineers working on site might need a headshot at some point. Most recently, we have photographed such people for an annual presentation they produce every year.  We have shot hundreds of staff for some energy companies – and we would love to shoot more!

Social Workers

Social workers don’t often get the recognition they deserve.  Or they may be working in a non-profit that needs to fundraise.  Both of these reasons are good ones to get a headshot!

Journalists

Journalists are constantly in the public eye, whether that’s by name, voice, or on TV.  With the distrust in media these days, it’s important for people to be able to relate to the people creating the news.

Administrators/Secretaries

Admins and secretaries are often the first face a person sees or hears from when they contact a business.  The first impression matters!

Event Planners

The relationship between an event planner and their client can often get very personal.  A headshot can make it a bit easier for a customer to take that first step and contact their vendor.

Home Services

Home renovators, handimen, plumbers, painters – we have photographed all of these!  To grow their businesses, they need to build trust with their potential customers – in particular since they’ll be going into those people’s homes.

Marketing Specialists

Graphic Designers, Web Developers, marketing strategists, app developers, PR specialists, printers – these are all clients’ we’ve photographed!
